FON Macroeconomic Database

Finances of the Nation compiles data from several sources to provide the longest consistent time series data on economic activity (GDP), population, and consumer price inflation for Canada and its provinces since Confederation. GDP data for the current year are a forecast. You can download the user guide here (PDF format) and download the full dataset here (CSV format).

Sources and Notes:

We gather, compile, and splice together various data sources to create this database. Relative annual changes are preserved across sources and are consistent with the latest data from Statistics Canada.
