Editorial Board

Trevor Tombe, University of Calgary
Dr. Tombe is an Professor of Economics at the University of Calgary and Director of Fiscal and Economic Policy at The School of Public Policy. He received his BBA (Finance) from Simon Fraser University, and his MA and PhD (Economics) from the University of Toronto in 2011. His research covers a broad range of topics from international trade, public finance, macroeconomics, and fiscal federalism.

Jennifer Robson, Carleton University
Jennifer is an applied researcher in social and tax policy at Carleton University. Her work focuses on the financial lives of low- and modest-income Canadians, with research spanning education savings, tax administration, parental benefits, wealth inequality, poverty, and administrative burden. Her work has helped inform reforms to extended E.I. parental benefits, automation of the Canada Learning Bond, the Canada Disability Benefit, and simpler tax filing for lower-income Canadians. She is also co-editor of the Canadian Tax Journal and Canadian Public Policy, and serves on the editorial board of Canadian Public Administration and the board of the Canadian Tax Observatory.

Heather Evans, Canadian Tax Foundation
Heather L. Evans is the Executive Director and CEO of the Canadian Tax Foundation, leading a team based in Toronto and Montreal and working with the Foundation’s Board of Governors to serve over 13,000 members. Before joining the Foundation, Heather was a partner with Deloitte LLP, leading a team of 1200 professionals as National Managing Partner, Tax and serving as a member of the firm’s Global Tax & Legal Executive. She is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, has served on several boards, is a frequent author and speaker on tax-related matters, and has taught at the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law and Osgoode Hall Law School at York University.
