Taxes and the Economy

What governments can raise depends on how they tax and on the size of the economy they tax. Finances of the Nation brings together data on both: statutory tax rates across Canada's governments, the distribution of income and taxes paid, the economy of each province and territory over the long run, and how Canada's public finances compare with other G7 countries. The data are drawn from official sources and organized into consistent series over time.

To use it, choose a tile to open a dataset or simulator, where you can explore the figures and download them. The filters narrow the list by type.

Pictures on the tiles are illustrations, not data.
